    Life's full of contradictions. Every now and then you'll hear someone say … "I'm no expert but …" and then be the beneficiary of that same persons point of view, which reveals itself to be little more than their opinion, usually based on some hard wired ideology, masquerading as knowledge, bearing out Plato's centuries old wisdom. Ideology is rarely founded in kindness, it's usually founded in the preservation of power, in prejudice or in fear, or a combination of all of those things. This collection of juxtaposed journalism, reportáge, analysis, stories and academic research, presents us with more to think about, so that we don't merely give sway to a conclusion based on little more than a pre-conceived prejudice. Speaking truth to power is uncomfortable for those with that power, empowering for those who speak it and liberating for those who know it. The Flip-Side is a place to assist us, as Plato put it, to bridge the gap between ignorance and knowledge - it's a report on the state-of-play. Should we keep doing it? You tell me.
